Frequently asked questions

How does this actually work?
Buyorder Manager asks CSFloat what the competing buy orders look like for each item
you're tracking (matching your float range or paint seed restrictions, if any), then
moves your own buy order to sit just above the highest competitor - never above the
price cap you set. If no one is above your cap, it leaves your order alone; if
everyone's above it, it pauses instead of overpaying.
Why do you need my CSFloat API key?
CSFloat's buy order system is only reachable through the same API your own account uses
when you place or edit a buy order on csfloat.com. Your key is what lets the manager act
as you - reading competing offers and creating or adjusting your buy orders - instead of
us needing your password or any inventory/trade access, which we never ask for.
Is my API key safe?
Your key is stored only on this server, tied to your Steam ID, and used exclusively to
call CSFloat's API on your behalf. It's never shown back in full in the browser and
never sent anywhere except csfloat.com. Since this is a small, self-hosted tool, treat
it with the same care you'd give any password - only use it on an instance run by
someone you trust. See our Privacy Policy for more.
How often are my buyorders checked?
It depends on your plan: Free checks each buyorder roughly every 20 minutes, and Trader
/ Trader Pro check every 75 seconds. The dashboard itself refreshes on a similar
cadence, so what you see stays close to what the manager is actually doing.
Can I limit a buy order to a specific float range or paint seed?
Yes - each buyorder can optionally be restricted to a float range, or to up to 4 paint
seeds (patterns), so you only end up competing for - and buying - the exact float or
pattern you actually want.
Will my buy order ever go above my price cap?
No. The price cap is a hard ceiling - the manager will pin your order right at the cap
if competition reaches or exceeds it, and will never create or raise an order past it.
What happens when my buyorder gets filled (item purchased)?
CSFloat removes a filled buy order from your active list without any notice. The
manager detects that on the next check, marks the item "purchased" in your activity
log, and pauses it automatically so it doesn't immediately start bidding on another
unit.
Is there a free plan?
Yes - the Free plan lets you run up to 3 active buyorders at no cost, so you can try the
whole workflow before upgrading. See Pricing for details on all
plans.
How do I get support, or ask for my data to be deleted?
Email [email protected] - you'll be
talking directly with the developers, not a support queue. See our
Privacy Policy for how data deletion requests are handled.
